I worked quite a bit on the mini project yesterday and most of the exterior is finished. Just waiting on more shingles to arrive.
I placed clay patio tiles on the floor of the outdoor area- where whoever lives in the lower level will enter the apartment (What do you call that area anyway?) I used the mortar I had left from laying the patio tiles to create the sidewalk in front and mixed some in the paint for the steps in front to make them look like cement.
Painting all those railing pieces and posts was a great deal of fun. The fence is made of plastic and were shiny. I painted over them with the soft black paint I used on the railings and posts. I wasn't sure how sturdy they would be just glued to the posts, so I used my Dremel and made holes in the posts and stuck the ends of the railing into the holes. I think it will work out well. The fence pieces cut well and didn't break. I managed to be able to get the gate to work by using the small metal rings you find on necklaces, where the clasp is attached. Seems to be working so far.
The brick work is done with Magic Brick- it was pretty easy to use and mixed into the paint great.
Now I have to decide where to run the electrical tape and pick out color schemes.
Mom and I made a card for my nephew's wedding. Their colors are red and black:
The stamp in front and the saying inside are from Our Daily Bread.

Here is the second card for the Lady Anne Challenge:

Was very different for me to make a card with no coloring needed! Paper again from the stack from Hobby Lobby.

Challenges for August
I worked on the challenge cards today and did 3 of them! I will be heading up north soon for my nephew's wedding and wanted to get them done before I left.
The images for Lady Anne's Christmas challenge #7 are from Nana Vic.
Santa was colored with Copics R35,37,39, belt with N5,7 and the tree with G 21,28,29.
The stripe paper is from a 6x6 DCWV pack called Striped, the Merry Christmas paper is from a stack I got from Hobby Lobby last year.
The image for Delightful Inspiration {from the heart} is called Cats Out of the Bag:
The cat was colored with YR 20,23,27 , E 44,47,49 and E40,41. The Mice are W 3,5,7. The bag is BG11,13,15. The grass YG 61,63,67 . The papers are from an 8x8 pad by DCWV called Cat.
So off to post them on their respective sites! Then I'll be back with some pictures of my miniature project and my nephew's wedding card.
