For the base I used a piece of 3/8" plywood 25 1/4" X 30" The back and the 2 sides that will be supporting the house are also 3/4" plywood. The 2 side pieces are 9 1/2 " tall, 15 1/4 " deep. The back piece is 9 1/4" tall and 30" long.
The wood for the front wall and the patio section is 1/4" plywood. The 2 front walls ( the ones with the door and windows) are 9 1/2' x 15"
The bottom of the patio is 2 pieces that are 10"x 15"
I decided to make it look like there was sidewalk in front- it is 3" tall and 3" deep.
I know I built the two front movable pieces entirely before attaching them to the sides. It took a lot of sanding the base to get the fronts to open smoothly!
The stairs are made from foam board and basswood- it was pretty much trial and error until it fit correctly.
Hopefully the rest of the pictures will give you an idea of how it progressed. I used magic brick or the sides, front and on stairs.
The flooring here is clay patio bricks on mesh. I mixed sand into the paint to give the sidewalk texture.
Because of the stair railings the upper front can not be opened unless the stairs are removed or the bottom front is also open.
Pamela hope this helps you. Have fun building. Ask if have any questions. One of these days I will finish. It survived the move north pretty well except for the railings in front, those need to be redone.
